Rediscovering the Power of S.A.V.E.R.S.

Many years ago, at the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, I was constantly searching for materials, books, or habits that would help me navigate how to build a company. Y’all I had NO idea about what I was doing.  It was way back then that I came across the book, The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. It’s a little book, but boy did the S.A.V.E.R.S framework reshape the way I approached my day. It helped me manage the chaos, that I often carry around in my brain.


Fast forward to almost 11 years later 😯and the whirlwind of my daily life made me lose sight of the habit that once brought me so much balance, fulfillment, and success. Bottom line, I dropped the ball and abandoned this practice that served my well-being in my pursuit of productivity. I often ask myself, “Why am I like this?” Maybe I’ll never know, why I do what I do. But, I’m committed to navigating life’s complexities and stresses. And while I grant myself a bit of GRACE, I’m here to remind myself and you, that there is immense value in returning to the basics and re-embracing habits that have the potential to revolutionize our days.


1. Silence (S): Embracing the Power of Stillness


In the relentless noise of the 21st century, the importance of silence cannot be overstated. The S.A.V.E.R.S. routine begins with silence, encouraging us to engage in practices like meditation or mindful breathing. Taking a few moments each morning to quiet the mind can foster mental clarity, reduce stress, and set a positive tone for the day.


2. Affirmations (A): Shaping Your Reality with Positive Declarations


Affirmations are a potent tool for reshaping our mindset and influencing our actions. Hal Elrod emphasizes the power of positive self-talk to instill confidence and cultivate a growth-oriented perspective. Returning to the habit of affirmations can rewire our internal dialogue, fostering a more optimistic and resilient outlook on life.


3. Visualization (V): Creating Your Future Through Imagination


Visualization involves mentally picturing your goals and desired outcomes. Reconnecting with this practice allows us to clarify our aspirations and reinforce our commitment to achieving them. We prime our minds for focused and purposeful action by vividly envisioning success. This is my favorite part of the framework, I describe it as dreaming on steroids. You should do this so intensely that when the outcome happens, it should feel like deja vu.


4. Exercise (E): Nurturing Your Body for Overall Well-being


Physical activity often takes a backseat in the hustle and bustle of daily life. Yet, it is a fundamental aspect of holistic well-being. Incorporating exercise into our mornings not only enhances physical health but also boosts energy levels and improves mood. Whether it's a fierce dance break, a brisk walk, yoga, or a quick workout, prioritizing movement contributes to a more vibrant and fulfilling life.


5. Reading (R): Feeding Your Mind with Knowledge


I am passionate about reading and this year I’m committed to making more time for it. But I will acknowledge that the busyness of life often causes the habit of reading to fall by the wayside. However, continuous learning is essential for personal and professional growth. The Miracle Morning suggests dedicating time each morning to reading, allowing us to expand our knowledge, gain new perspectives, and stay intellectually stimulated.


6. Scribing (S): Journaling for Reflection and Gratitude


The final component of S.A.V.E.R.S. is scribing, or journaling. Taking a few minutes to reflect on our thoughts, express gratitude, and set intentions can have profound effects on our emotional well-being. Journaling serves as a valuable tool for self-discovery, mindfulness, and tracking personal growth over time.


So basically:


Returning to the basics and reigniting the habit of practicing S.A.V.E.R.S. from "The Miracle Morning" is a powerful step toward reclaiming control over my life. Amid life's busyness, this simple yet transformative practice offers a pathway to greater self-awareness, purpose, and fulfillment. As I embrace the essence of S.A.V.E.R.S., I’m rediscovering the potential for a miraculous start to each day, setting the tone for a life of intention, balance, and success.
